Notes Regarding Spelling
Massing/Messing/Mossinger line:
There is debate about how this last name should be spelled. Various spellings have been found
on various documents as noted below. Earlier documents add the "er" at the end of the name, while
later documents drop it and end at the "g." It would be very helpful in solving this problem to find
